[NOTD] Glamour in Red

Hello there,

today we went to a great brunch and I want to show you my manicure for this event. My Dad celebrated his 70th birthday this November and my Mum will be 50 the next month, so they celebrated their birthdays together on this day. It was a great atmosphere and awesome to talk to my cousins and my brother and his beautiful girlfriend.

So I went with a black top, black trousers and a cardigan in grey-white-black, so I decided to go with some red for my nails and lips...

I used the Perfect Formula gel coat in two coats as a base and applied one coat of OPI The thrill of Brazil.

Then I used a sponge and China Glaze Ring in the Red to use it on my tips and finished with one coat of Essence Better than gel nails Top Sealer.

Happy Birthday DAD!

Hi there,

I hope you are all doing fine!
Well, today is my Dad's 70th birthday, and apparently, because I am in Ireland, I won't be there for his birthday.
Nevertheless, I made a little manicure, I might have worn:

I first started with one thicker coat of NYC City Blackout:

Then on top one coat of Esprit Clear Glow:

Then I used Essence Silver Twister and Cheeky Image Plate 9 to create the stamping, I finished with another coat of Esprit Clear Glow

Sunday's Facebook Challenge #7

Hello,
I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Today I have a new Challenge from our Facebook Page:
It's a bit personal cause the stampingplates should match your month of birth.

Well actually I found a plate that combines my day and month or birthday. It's the Konad m-59 and although, the theme is a bit early, I couldn't resist to do these beautiful snowflakes:

What I used:

As a base I used one coat NYC Pinstripe White, although it is a bit streaky I left with that, because you wouldn't see the white in total at the end:

Then I used NYC Madison Avenue and the Pinstripe White and did some sponging over the white:

Then for the stamping I used Essie Sole Mate and Konad's m59

Halloween Challenge - Inspired by a Scary Movie

Hello Lovlies,

this is it, the Halloween Challenge 2012 is almost done, can't believe, how fast the time flew.

Well today's theme is inspired by a scary movie.

I want to tell you a little story, why I chose this movie. So I was about 9 or 10 years old, when I went to another girls birthday, we had fun and then she asked if we wanted to watch that movie. I have no idea which one of the series it was, but it just was with Freddy Krueger. The night, when I came home, I did not want to go to bed. I was afraid, that he would come into my dreams and would kill me, I did not realize, that this was just a movie.

So this is my Freddy Krueger inspired manicure:

Index and ringfinger are inspired by his jumper he is wearing, the other ones are inspired by his skin.

The red is NYC Madison Avenue the brown is Manhattan St. Honore - one coat each

Then I used NYC City Blackout and Cheeky's image plate CH 10 for the stripes and a foil and Manhattan Pumpkin Carrot Pie for the skin - image.

Technic 6 pieces nailpolish set - SWATCHES

Good evening,

how are you?

Hope you are fine, and you'll have a great weekend ahead!

So last week I went to Dunnes and got myself a little treat, a Technic Nail Polish Set with great 6 colours for 7€.

Unfortunatelly the shades don't have names, but there is a metallic purple, that is so beautiful in the bottle but not really nice on the nails (I'll save that for another post), then we have a gold, that is a one coater, I just used two for the swatches. A metallic blue, really nice and great to apply. Then we have the cremes: Mint - Taupe and kind of Peach/Coral.
(For these upcoming four colours I used two coats)

In direct sunlight:

Just a closeup of the gold shade. I love this beautiful multicolour shimmer, would be nicer without all these streaks.

That coral/peach colour was used for a whole mani, but unfortunatelly it did not dry, although I used Essie's Good to Go. The other problem was, that I already used three coats and I could use another one till full opacity:

Halloween Challenge - Blood/Gore/Splatter

Hello there,

today's Halloween Challenge Theme is Blood/Gore/Splatter. I did a mani like that a while ago and haven't posted it yet, so this is my interpretation of blood!

So as a base I used OPI's Alpine Snow, I know, I complained about the opactiy, but I love love love that crisp clean white.

Then I used China Glaze Phat Santa and a straw, my fingerprint and a dotting tool to do the Nailart:

Halloween Challenge - Pumpkins

Hello Lovlies,

I can't believe it, next week, is Halloween, already, and after today's challenge theme, there will be just three more left.

So today's theme of the Halloween Challenge is PUMPKINS. (I followed the Challenge on this Facebook Page, if you are interested, come and join!)

So, if I had one pumpkin image plate, I would've used it, but instead, I did some weird nailart, I am not convinced that you could see, that these should be pumpkins or Jack-O-Lanterns, to be exactly. I was in a hurry, and all I can say is: I tried!

So, I started with two coats of Manhattan Pumpkin Carrot Pie, my only orange, that I have with me here in Ireland and finished with one coat of Essie Good to go.

Then I used NYC City Blackout and a dotting tool, to apply the eyes and the mouth, well kind of:
